HISTORY

    CURRICULUM

    History education at Christow aims to help pupils gain a coherent knowledge and understanding of Britain's past and that of the wider world. Through topic based learning we inspire pupils' curiosity to know more about the past, equipping pupils to ask perceptive questions, think critically, weigh evidence, sift arguments, and develop perspective and judgement.

    We create multimedia learning environments that help pupils to contemplate the complexity of people's lives, the process of change, the diversity of societies and relationships between different groups, as well as their own identity. We teach about a range of important Historical events and famous people from the past and present;

    Example Reception/KS1 topics:

  • Famous British people
  • Knights and castles
  • Dinosaurs
  • Local study
  • All about me

  • Example KS2 topics:

  • Victorians
  • WWII
  • Stone Age
  • Iron Age
  • History of Britain
  • Ancient Egypt
